Antelope Canyon
Antelope Canyon is the best-known and most frequently-visited of the dozens of slot canyons peppered across Arizona. Most familiar is the upper canyon (also referred to as “The Corkscrew”), known for deep, narrow caverns through which beams of light can often be seen reaching down to the sandy floor. However, a couple of miles away lies the more interesting (in my opinion), less accessible and therefore lesser-known and less often visited Lower Antelope Canyon. Providing a more rugged and strenuous experience than its flat-floored neighbour, the lower canyon rewards visitors and photographers alike with a wider spectrum of colours and shapes, providing striking, abstract images.
